The City of Westover is accepting bids for a new refuse truck. The bids are due by November 2nd, 2026, at 4:00 PM, and must be sealed and mailed to City of Westover, 500 Dupont Rd, Westover WV 26501, or dropped off physically at the same address. The bid should state “Sealed Refuse Truck Bid” on the outside of the envelope. The required bid sheet is available here or from Jason Stinespring at jstinespring@westoverwv.gov or 304-376-1027. The specs are as follows:
- Freightliner chassis
- Chassis must have GVWR of 26,000 lbs.
- New Way Viper 11 V packer
- Truck should be equipped to dump rear load 4 yd dumpsters
- White exterior for chassis and packer
- No interior carpet – only the rubber/vinyl covering
- Back-up alarm
- Vinyl seats if available
- Back-up camera
- Any other standard features are acceptable
We are offering a 2020 Kenworth with a GVWR of 26,000 lbs. and a Pak-Mor 12 yd packer on trade. There are plenty of pics of the truck available. You can also set an appointment to look at the truck in person.

Meetings are open to the public. Citizen participation is what makes our community successful, and we encourage all to attend. It is important to note that Council is permitted by West Virginia law to move to a closed executive session for the purpose of discussing specific issues.

Where do I vote?
The City has joined Monongalia County when voting. The next elections will be held in 2026. Please, follow the County's schedule which will be published closer to elections.
How do I schedule a garabge pickup or drop off recycling?
Garbage services are provided by the City of Westover and billed on your water bill from Morgantown Utility Board (MUB). Special bulk pickups are available by contacting City Hall at 304-296-6860. To begin garbage services, call 304-292-8443. For additional information, visit the MUB website. Recycling Services are also provided through the City of Westover and is collected on the same day as your garbage pickup.
Can I reserve a pavilion at the park by City Hall?
Reservations for park pavilions can be made by calling City Hall 304-296-6860.
